Our commitment to responsible tourism and travel

At Yoga For The Wild, we strongly feel that it is our duty to protect and care for the earth, its’ wildlife and wild places, and all of our activities are conducted in support of this ethos. We also encourage our guests and suppliers to live and travel responsibly by reducing their carbon footprint as much as possible and traveling in a way that is respectful and beneficial to local cultures and wildlife.

Whether we are home or traveling, we agree to support and uphold any and all laws and regulations that are relevant to protecting and improving our environment. We believe that by doing so, we will help make our planet a better place for ourselves, our families, our guests, the wildlife we love, and the future generations that will inherit the Earth.

Examples of our commitment to responsible tourism and travel include:

-Choosing locally owned accommodations (vs international chains) and restaurants wherever possible.

-Choosing lodging accommodations with good environmental standards, priority for those that run on solar energy.

-Meal preparations with ingredients sourced, as much as possible, by local gardens and farms.

-Sharing transportation / choosing public transport, when available.

-Avoiding single use plastics

-Offering Vegan and Vegetarian meal options

-Supporting local artisans, crafters and cooperative markets in the areas we visit

-Picking up litter EVERYWHERE

-Ensuring that food waste plans are a priority with our lodging accommodations

-Encouraging goods be repurposed and second hand clothing over new items

- Reducing the amount of garbage in landfills: using only what you need and composting and/or recycling after that

-Suggest that our guests pay to increase the percentage of sustainable aviation fuel used in order to reduce CO2 emissions or opt for energy efficient flight routes, when available

-Combine international itineraries to reduce flying

-Protecting, respecting and restoring nature and biodiversity, whenever possible

-Pollution reduction (solid, noise, air)

-Encourage wastewater reduction and rainwater harvesting

-Visiting and contributing entry fees to Parks or Protected Areas.

-Providing guests with information about reducing their impacts on the environment

-Enlisting expert nature guides that prioritize animal welfare and do not compromise the wellbeing of wildlife for the sake of tourism- and educating our guests about this importance.

-Engaging in conversations with our guests about the impact that results from every small decision made

-Provide guests with accurate pre-trip information on the social and political situation in each destination and offer suggestions of ways to minimize negative impacts on local cultures.

We commit to living and traveling by these guidelines and hope that everyone who chooses to travel with us, will also strive to abide by these standards and live as a role model for environmental stewardship, conservation and preservation.
